Carrie

I am a student major in Art History @Guangzhou Acmdemy of Fine Arts

Had a wonderful day with my friends. Andrew is a good tour guide who showed me "his" city and took me to "my" restaurant.

I took an elective of “craft of stained glass” this semester. Here are some of my works. My professor likes the Fish Cameo a lot and make it a permanent collection by my academy although it’s not my favorite.

My favorite one is the “Big Kiss”! What do you think of that?

I was also participate in Mladen Stilinovic’s art work “Praise of laziness” in the exhibition of “One Step Forward, Two Steps Back - Us and Institution, Us as Institution”, being hold at Times Museum.

What I did was to translate his work into Chinese and write them down on the wall beside his work with the same form. It took me a whole afternoon to finish because it is not easy to write on the wall neatly.

In a recent solo exhibition "Lucid Dreams in the Reverie of the Real" at the Singapore Art Museum, April 20 to June 10, 2013, Lee Wen enacted a work called "Room For Nothing To Do”, the materials used were large dry leaves collected as one museum chair, needle and thread, and a pile of blank A4 size left on a museum pedestals.

In the current exhibition of “One Step Forward, Two Steps Back - Us and Institution, Us as Institution”, being hold at Times Museum, Lee Wen proposed to make the second installment of “Room For Nothing To Do”. I was luckily to be a participant to assist him to create the work to be installed together. In the process the artist provided an insight into the philosophical ideas behind his art practice. It is seen as a part of the oral tradition of cultural exchange although in fact we are in an age of heightens individualism.

The picture of me with the art work was taken by Lee Wen at Guangdong Times Museum.

It's time to prepare for the TOFEL test! Come on, Carrie, you can do it!

A New Start
